Dean Marta L. Wayne and Provost J. Scott Angle hosted UF's annual reception honoring Fulbright Scholars. This year, the celebration was even more special as the University of Florida ranks second on a list of U.S. colleges and universities that produced the largest number of 2023-2024 Fulbright U.S. Scholars, up from fourth last year and seventh just two years ago.

Eleven UF scholars were named, placing UF on the list of Fulbright Top Producing Institutions as one of the colleges and universities with the highest number of faculty selected for the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program, which is administered by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. For details on our Fulbright awardees please visit our webpage.

The purpose of the Fulbright program is to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of more than 150 countries that participate in the program. It aims to establish open communication and cooperative relationships by enriching Americans’ understanding of the educational, political, economic, social, and cultural realities of countries around the world.
