The HSA Book Award is given in alternate years to the best book in Haitian Studies in the Social Sciences, with relevance towards the betterment of Haiti and its people.
· Books must have been published within the last 2 years, June 2021 to June 2023. Anthologies and edited volumes do not qualify.
· Authors must be a member of HSA.
· Authors must submit an electronic version of their book for reviewers and arrange for 3 hard copies of the book to be sent to the Chair of the Award committee.
· The Haitian Studies Book Prize will carry a cash award of US $1,000.00.
The deadline to submit nominations is Monday June 12, 2023 and all relevant material, including hard copies of the books, should be received by Dr. Crystal Felima by Monday, June 19, 2023. Awardees will be notified by the end of August or early September. The Awards Committee and HSA Board will review the submitted materials. All nominations and materials are kept confidential.
