Dr. Muthusami Kumaran, Associate Professor of Nonprofit Management, Department of Family, Youth & Community Sciences, CALS, has been travelling across South Korea since March 11 for his grant project ‘Strengthening organizational management capacities of NGOs in South Korea’ funded by the U.S. Embassy - Seoul. He has already completed his two-day intensive training workshops for 25 selected NGO leaders in the cities of Jeju, Busan and Daegu. He will continue with the workshops in Gwangju and Suwon in the upcoming days and return home on April 2. This project is expected to have high impacts on organizational effectiveness and operational efficiencies of the NGO sector of S. Korea. It is another example of the stellar work by UF faculty on a global scale. The pictures are from Dr. K’s training workshops in Jeju, Busan & Daegu.

During his 2019-20 Fulbright scholarship in Jeju Island, S. Korea, he was invited by the U.S. Embassy to give a series of lectures and training workshops for 150 NGO leaders in the capital city of Seoul. Dr. K credits this grant project as a direct result of his Fulbright experience and encourages his UF colleagues to pursue Fulbright opportunities that have potential for projects like this beyond Fulbright teaching/research assignments
