Successful F-1 Immigration 101 Session Highlights Support for International Students

Faculty and staff participated in a training session focused on immigration requirements and processes that support international students in attaining and maintaining legal status in the United States.

The session was led by Martine Angrand, Director of International Student Services and covered key immigration terminology, including F-1 status, Form I-20, and Form I-94, and reviewed the process of obtaining an I-20. Participants also learned about enrollment and employment requirements for maintaining legal status, the process for obtaining a Social Security number, and the resources available through the UF International Center to assist international students.
