UFIC Welcomes Erasmus+ Scholar from Yeditepe University
The University of Florida recently welcomed Gülce Kunter of Yeditepe University (Türkiye) as part of the Erasmus+ staff mobility program—marking UF’s first Erasmus+ scholar visit hosted by the UF International Center (UFIC). During her time on campus, Kunter engaged with colleagues across all UFIC units, gaining insight into UF’s global initiatives and sharing her expertise in internationalization and exchange programs.
Her visit began with a campus tour led by the UF Cicerones, followed by a series of meetings with the UFIC team and campus partners. She also delivered a presentation and Q&A session on Yeditepe University’s international efforts and explored opportunities for collaboration, including discussions on Erasmus agreements, student exchanges, and scholar programming.
Throughout the week, Kunter connected with Guelden Olgun from Languages, Literatures and Cultures. She also met with Megan Forbes and Lia Brenneman from the English Language Institute, along with representatives from other campus offices, and attended the International Student Awards Ceremony. She also took time to explore campus and the surrounding community before concluding her visit.
Reflecting on her experience, Kunter shared:
“My visit to the University of Florida International Center was both inspiring and highly enriching. It offered a valuable opportunity to engage with a dedicated and dynamic team, exchange best practices, and explore innovative avenues for collaboration within the Erasmus+ KA171 framework. This experience represents a meaningful step in strengthening our partnership, particularly in enhancing student and staff mobility. I look forward to further deepening this collaboration and co-creating impactful and sustainable outcomes together. I would also like to thank the team for their warm welcome and hospitality.”
Kunter’s visit highlighted the value of international academic exchange and strengthened ties between the University of Florida and Yeditepe University. Both institutions look forward to building on this momentum through future collaboration and expanded exchange opportunities.
