Heavener International Symposium Highlights Global Engagement and International Education

The Heavener International Symposium, held on April 3rd, brought together students, faculty, and staff for a dynamic morning focused on global engagement and international education. The program featured opening remarks from student ambassadors, followed by insights on Heavener’s commitment to international education from Dean Saby Mitra and Dean Marta Wayne, who was pleased to be both a sponsor and featured speaker for the event.

Attendees engaged in interactive study abroad roundtables led by International Peer Student Ambassadors (IPSAs) and participated in workshop breakout sessions designed to deepen their global perspectives. The afternoon included lunch alongside student poster evaluations, with contributions from multiple faculty and deans, before concluding remarks by Dr. Andy Naranjo, Director of the International Business Center. The event wrapped up with the announcement of poster award winners and raffle prizes, highlighting a successful and engaging symposium experience for all involved.
